What We're Learning:
Math: TEKS 4.2 A-DStudents build a strong foundation in understanding whole numbers through one billion by developing deep place value knowledge and number sense. Students learn to represent numbers in multiple forms, including standard and expanded notation, and to explain the value of each digit based on its position. They investigate how place-value positions are related, recognizing that each place is ten times greater than the one to its right and one-tenth of the place to its left (TEKS 4.2A, 4.2B). Students apply this understanding to compare and order whole numbers using mathematical symbols and justify their reasoning (TEKS 4.2C), and extend their thinking to round numbers to a given place value (TEKS 4.2D).
4.6 C- Make and confirm predictions using text evidence
4.6I- monitor comprehension and make adjustments to help with understanding.
4.11Bii- Develop engaging ideas with relevant details.4.6 - Geography. The student understands the concept of regions.
4.7B - identify and explain patterns of settlement such as the location of towns and cities in Texas at different time periods
4.11A - identify how people in different regions of Texas earn their living, past and present
4.19D - organize and interpret information in outlines, reports, databases, and visuals, including graphs, charts, timelines, and maps;
4.20A - apply mapping elements, including grid systems, legends, symbols, scales, and compass roses, to create and interpret maps
4.20B - interpret geographic data, population distribution, and natural resources into a variety of formats such as graphs and maps.
4.21A - use social studies terminology correctly
4.21D - create written and visual material such as journal entries, reports, graphic organizers, outlines, and bibliographies

SRE Digital Citizenship
Families,
Students at SRE have been learning about digital citizenship in library classes. Students are learning how to balance time online, how to be kind to others while on devices, and how to keep their private information safe. Please continue to discuss online safety with your children.
LHISD Library Website
Library Services Website
We are excited to share the LHISD Library Services website. We invite you to view the page to find information regarding all 11 of our state-of-the-art libraries, the book selection process, and frequently asked questions. You will also find a list of proposed book purchases for elementary, middle and high school. These books will be posted for 10 school days. If you would like to provide feedback or input on any of the books listed, we invite you to complete the Feedback Form that can be found on the Library Services website. After the books have been posted for 10 days, a committee, including campus and district staff, will review the comments to determine approval for purchasing.
Thank you!
