SRE Field Day!

Dear Santa Rita Families and Friends,

We invite you all to attend your child's Field day and activities on Friday, May 19th. Field day will be hosted on the SRE playground. All parents will enter the recess gates on the bus lane side of the building. Parents will be required to show a valid TX photo I.D. NO I.D. NO ENTRY!!!

Rainy weather is in the forecast for several days. IF there is inclement weather on Field Day, plan B will be to move the event indoors. If this occurs, the event twill turn to a closed event due to spacing and campus capacity concerns.

Please remember if you plan to check your child out early, then they MUST leave campus. Once students have been checked out, they may not attend other Field Day or activities on campus. If you will be checking out multiple children please wait until the last Field Day time to check them out. Other siblings that do not attend SRE are able to come to Field Day as a spectator, but will not be allowed to participate in the activities or stations.

Also, Coach Pena is needing parent volunteers to help make our Field Day successful! If you are interested in volunteering please use the links below to to sign up. We greatly appreciate your service and time!

Medications at Campus

Dear Parents,

It is hard to believe that this school year is coming to a close. If your child has medication that is used on an as needed basis, the medication will be sent home on May 18th with your child. Look for a paper sack stapled shut for the medication in your child’s backpack. If you prefer to pick them up yourself, please do so before May 17th.

All asthma medications, Epi-pens, daily medications (non-stimulant) and diabetic supplies will be sent home on the last day of school with your child unless you’ve made prior arrangements with me. If you have any questions, please call me at 512-379-3366.

Regards

Salisa Wallace, RN

May Character Trait of the Month: Self-Control

Self-Control:

Being in charge of your thoughts, feelings, and actions…and doing what you should

Steps for practicing self-control:

  1. Stop…calm down with deep breaths. Consider everyone’s feelings, including your own!

  2. Think…What is the problem? What are your options? What would the consequences be from your actions?

  3. Choose…make your choice, and talk to someone for support, if needed.

LHISD Elementary Parent and Student Handbook

How can I access my child's grades?
How can I celebrate my child's birthday at school?
Are counseling services an option?
Is there a dress code?
What are the attendance and tardy policies?
Tell me more about being a volunteer!

Answers to these and many more questions can be found in the LHISD Elementary School Handbook.
