Thursday Sept. 22- "Thrilling Thursday"- Wear NEON!

All Things Homecoming!

This year LHISD is starting a new tradition in letting all campuses participate in wearing mums. We are so excited for our elementary students to be able to participate! Please read below for more information from the district.

Homecoming Week: Monday, September 19th-23rd (Theme Dress Up Days) Students are allowed to wear mums, but MUST follow these parameters set by the district:
- Elementary students will be allowed to wear mums or garters this year on Friday, September 23.
- We want our students to join in the Homecoming festivities as we cheer our Panthers on to victory!
- Students will be allowed to wear a single flower mum or garter that is no longer than 12 inches. (This includes the flower and ribbons.)
- Please do not include bells, cowbells or any other noise making decorations that could be a distraction

Reminders

Transportation Changes

Keeping consistent afternoon dismissal will support your child in feeling safe and confident at the end of each day. If it is necessary to request a transportation change, please visit our district transportation site. All changes must be made by email before 1pm on the day of the change. This is an LHISD policy. Any transportation change requests after 1:00pm will not be honored. Any emails sent to campus personnel requesting a transportation change will not be accepted.

Parents will get a confirmation email for transportation changes, but please be mindful that it might take time. If they don’t hear back from our receptionist by 1pm, you may call the campus to confirm it was received.

Early pickup cut-off time is 2:40. If you wish to pick up your child early, you must park in the parking lot and come into the building with a valid ID to check your child out with the receptionist.

Updates:

Fence installation will be continuing over the week and weekend to enclose our portables.

Fundraiser

SRE's Believe Kids fundraiser is underway! Make sure to check out the fundraiser catalog. It has all you need for the holidays, gift ideas, and even items for your kitchen! All funds will go towards SRE items that are not covered by district and state funding. The SRE fundraiser ends on September 23rd!

Headphones

The computers will stay at school, but we will use them frequently in class to expand and enhance the learning experience. Please double check that your student has headphones or earbuds in their backpacks each day, as several have been lost or broken since the year has begun! We appreciate your support!

Water Bottles

Please don't forget to send a water bottle to school with your child. We have bottle filling stations throughout the school to refill, as needed.

Weekly Spirit Days

Mondays are College and Career Days! Wear your favorite college or career readiness shirt! Fridays are Panther Spirit Days. We can't wait to see your purple and gold! 🥳

ELAR:

We will be learning about PLOT and how character interactions and relationships can affect the PLOT.

Social Studies:

We will be researching and learning about the American Indian life in Texas.

Math:

We will continue addition and subtraction problems with decimals.

Science:

We will be learning about forms of energy.
