Reminders

Transportation Changes

Keeping consistent afternoon dismissal will support your child in feeling safe and confident at the end of each day. If it is necessary to request a transportation change, please visit our district transportation site. All changes must be made by email before 1pm on the day of the change. This is an LHISD policy. Any transportation change requests after 1:00pm will not be honored. Any emails sent to campus personnel requesting a transportation change will not be accepted.

Parents will get a confirmation email for transportation changes, but please be mindful that it might take time. If they don’t hear back from our receptionist by 1pm, you may call the campus to confirm it was received.

Early pickup cut-off time is 2:40. If you wish to pick up your child early, you must park in the parking lot and come into the building with a valid ID to check your child out with the receptionist.

A Message from Music:

4th & 5th Grade parents,

We are so thrilled to begin SRE’s first 4th & 5th grade choir, Santa Rita Singers, this year! The choir will meet every Wednesday from 3-4pm in the SRE Music room, and we will be preparing for several performances this Fall! The choir will only meet in the Fall 2022 semester, and we have limited spots for those students who are interested. The choir is open to any and all 4th and 5th grade SRE students, but due to space in the Music room, it is limited to the first 75 students who sign up. If your student would like to be a part of this exciting new group at SRE, please see the link below for the sign-up form:

Calling all Dads! WatchDOGS is a unique organization that partners the school with male role models. It's an incredible opportunity to volunteer at Santa Rita while getting a sneak peek into your child's school day. It's an experience you won't want to miss, and you will make a big impact on your own child and so many others!

Student Reading Mentors Needed! Enjoy working with children, love reading, and want to make a big impact on a child's life? Education Connection is just for you!! Consider investing just 30 minutes a week, and bless the life of a child.

Chromebooks & Headphones

Our Chromebooks have been delivered! The computers will stay at school this year, but we will use them frequently in class to expand and enhance the learning experience. Please make sure your student has headphones or earbuds in their backpack each day.

Water Bottles

Please don't forget to send a water bottle to school with your child. We have bottle filling stations throughout the school to refill, as needed.

Weekly Spirit Days

Mondays are College and Career Days! Wear your favorite college or career readiness shirt! Fridays are Panther Spirit Days. We can't wait to see your purple and gold! 🥳

ELAR:

We will be launching our reading and writing workshops during the ELAR block.

Social Studies:

We will learn about using Geographic Tools in Social Studies.

Math:

We will continue our place value unit while learning about tenths and hundredths.

Science:

We will be learning about scientists, the scientific method, and science tools.
